When submitting an app on iOS or Android, Apple asks:
"Does your app implement any standard encryption algorithms instead of, or in addition to, using or accessing the encryption in Apple's iOS or macOS?"
From a brainCloud perspective, we advise developers to answer "No" to that question.
brainCloud's libraries use standard SSL-encryption - and on iOS and MacOS, they are using the Apple provided services.
There is some additional standards-based encryption that happens on our servers, but our understanding is that this is outside the scope of your "app" - and that you certainly can't be expected to know + understand + certify all the various technologies that services that you connect to utilize.
Note - obviously if your app is doing some additional encryption of a nature that means that you should answer "Yes" - then by all means do so!
