brainCloud is free during development (with restrictions).

It is recommended that you set your app to Live near the end of development, just before you do final verification / load / stress / submissions.

There are 4 steps to going live:

1 - Create a brainCloud billing account
2 - Enter your credit card info
3 - Hit the [Go Live!] button on your app
4 - Choose your plan

And voila - you are live!

Pro-tip: Have you setup separate development vs production versions of your app? Doing so is a best practice, and makes it much safer and easier to perform updates once your app is live. More info here.
